Sat. Feb 3, at the Westin La Paloma, it was hard to tell who was who behind the mask–until everyone started to dance! Click here for photo information. Thanks to Ms.Thomas and the French Club for creating this glamorous evening veiled in mystery,  replete with beads and peacock feathers, and to BASIS parent John Hurbon for donating his DJ services (you can thank him by bringing in canned food for the homeless).

BASIS Tucson Showcases the Arts at Mercado San Agustin

On Sat., Feb 18, BASIS Tucson families celebrated the arts at Object of My Affection at the Mercado San Agustin.  Multi-media work by grades 5-12 was displayed on the walls, with student curators standing by, ready to explain them. Drama students took center stage to present monologues describing the Object of Their Affection.  Special thanks to Mr. Johnson and Mr. McDonald for creating this remarkable evening! BASIS Delegation participates in the JSA

BASIS Tucson and Oro Valley students participated in the Junior State of Arizona Centennial Convention on Sat, Feb 18 at the U of A.  They were among 300 students from all over Arizona who engaged in our democratic process:  they debated topics, held a caucus and attended lectures by professors from across the country  on current political issues and economics. Special thanks to Mr. Sterling for being their advisor and chaperone!

Mr. Slurpy Visits Downtown Tucson Science in the City, Feb. 18th

Health Science Club Donates Books to UMC Pediatrics

In December, the BASIS Tucson Health Science Club exceeded its goal of 200 books and took 324 to the pediatric unit at UMC. Go to Clubs to learn more about their community service.  Congratulations to the club members for making a difference in lives of children!
